Paul Sahner has been documenting New York, block by block, on his photographic blog NYC Grid for only a few months, but has already amassed a fascinating portrait of the city. One interesting task he set himself recently was to re-photograph locations originally captured by his grandfather in 1961. Looking at these photographs side-by-side is revelaing, both in how much and how little some...

Designunit are a Danish studio who “create visual expressions for brands through graphic design and imagery”. Their work is immaculate. Damn them. Damn them and all their Danish ways. Via FormFiftyFive.

Incredibly off-topic (as if I ever sick to one topic), but I just spotted this: the top five from MTV’s 100 Greatest Albums Ever poll: 1. Michael Jackson – Thriller 2. Craig David – Born to Do It 3. Guns ‘N’ Roses – Appetite for Destruction 4. Radiohead – OK Computer 5. Nirvana – Nevermind A slow hand clap for Craig David’s management. Good luck with that telephone bill.

This week, I have mostly been:
looking forward to this weekend. That’s about it. Not such a busy week really. Sorry. There’ll be more to report next week, I’m certain of it. And how are you?

Things to look at have some spreads of old Architectural Review, whilst Eye have a review of new Architectural Review (which, given my ever-growing interest in architecture, I may just have to add to my shopping list).

File is a gorgeous new magazine/DVD that focuses on graphic design, art and visual communication. It’s not particualrly cheap (£6.50 plus postage), but by golly it’s nice.  Look at the newsprint! The generous lashing of whiteness! A picture of … something! Oh how my Paypal account will bleed. (via magCulture)

“Mind your ruddy language. My ears are not a toilet!”
– Moss, The IT Crowd. (As part of my current no caffeine/no booze/no evil in general detox, I’m going to experiment with Not Swearing. Not sure how long this’ll last. It’ll no doubt reach breaking point this weekend, and I’ll suddenly burst out with a stream of expletives in front of my tiny niece and...
