I’ve had Taschen’s Stanley Kubrick Archives nestled under my telly for a while now, and I finally got around reading some of it the other day. The articles/essays/interviews are fantastic, and although the book is sumptuously illustrated with stills, I’ve decided the best way to experience the book is to watch all of Kubrick’s films in order, starting with Killer’s Kiss*.
I’m actually rather excited about this little project. It’ll either move me to a higher understanding of my existence and place in the Universe, or it’ll drive me bonkers. And maybe, just maybe, by the end of it I’ll realise that Eyes Wide Shut is actually not that bad.
It might happen.
* I couldn’t find Fear & Desire on DVD anywhere. Any suggestions?
