Just added to my shopping list: Writeroom. Why I should get it: Word-processors have become option-overloaded monsters, but most of the time all we want to use them for is writing. Writeroom is a text editor, and nothing more. No menus, no palettes, no distractions, no options whatsoever – apart from choosing what word to type next. Writeroom equals simplicity. Simplicity equals creativity. Why I’m really getting it: It’ll be like working on a computer from an eighties sci-fi movie. Or on a really high-spec Amstrad 464. Which is, quite frankly, an awesome prospect.
