The pandemic has at long last arrived at each landmass on Earth.
Chilean specialists declared that 58 individuals that were at two army installations in Antarctica or on a naval force transport that went to the landmass tried positive for the new Covid.
So far no other country with a presence in Antarctica has freely revealed some other cases.
Chile’s military declared Monday that 36 individuals at the Gen. Bernardo O’Higgins Riquelme Antarctic base have tried positive, and on Tuesday the wellbeing clergyman for the Biobio area in Chile said there are 21 diseases including individuals on board the Chilean naval force’s Sergeant Aldea supply vessel.
One more case was accounted for in Las Estrellas’ town, where regular citizen faculty working at the Lieutenant Rodolfo Marsh Martin Air Force Base live, said Eduardo Castillo, provincial wellbeing secretary for the Magallanes zone, which administer Chilean activities in the Antarctic. The Sargento Aldea transport docked at that town, he added.
The military said the principal gathering of 36 individuals incorporates 26 individuals from the military and 10 regular citizen workers of a support contract organization. It said none so far had shown intricacies.
The initial three individuals on the Sergeant Aldea vessel tried positive a week ago and every one of the 208 crewmembers are being isolated on board that transport, as per the naval force. It said the vessel had adjusted the base on the Trinity Peninsula between Nov. 27 and Dec. 10.
The U.S. Public Science Foundation, the organization supervising U.S. programs in Antarctica, said it knew about the reports of positive cases in travelers on board the Sergeant Aldea.
“Staff at U.S. Antarctic Program stations have had no communications with the Chilean stations being referred to or the staff who live there,” the establishment said. “NSF stays focused on not trading staff or tolerating vacationers at USAP stations.”…
